What Your Browser Reveals
Every website can read all of this the moment you open it — no permission, no cookies. Combined, it forms a fingerprint that can recognise you across websites.
Measured on your device — nothing is sent or storedCalculated from the values below. Change nothing, and it stays the same.
Try it: open this page in a private / incognito window, or clear your cookies and come back. The ID stays the same — that's why fingerprinting works even when you block cookies.
Advanced tracking techniques
Websites can secretly draw an image or process a sound. Tiny differences in your graphics card, drivers and system make the result slightly different on every computer — invisible to you, but easy to measure.

By measuring the width of text, a site can detect which fonts you have installed. Fonts from Microsoft Office, Adobe or design apps also reveal which software you use.
How to protect yourself
- Use a browser with fingerprinting protection. Brave, Firefox (Enhanced Tracking Protection → Strict) and Safari add noise or hide details. Tor Browser makes everyone look the same.
- Blend in instead of standing out. Rare settings, unusual fonts and many extensions make you more unique, not less.
- Private windows don't help here. They delete cookies and history, but your fingerprint stays the same.
- Use a tracker blocker such as uBlock Origin — it stops many fingerprinting scripts from loading at all.
- Remember your IP address. Every site sees it too (it's not shown here because this page contacts no server). A VPN hides it — but not your fingerprint.
